Bright and Shining Gas Stations business cards, photos, and new location design concepts

I took pictures on 7/23/01 of existing gas stations in the area, in order to find what franchise would be interested in locating to the McCausland/Hwy. I-64 interchange, and talked to the businesses in 7/2001. These gas stations are still in existence, and so are some others. They are on Clayton Road, Manchester Road, and Big Bend Blvd.

I incorporated overnight parking and a bus stop with seating in some of the concept designs. I thought, first, of large trucks, and truck and car parking, and gas pumps for them, at The New I-64/McCausland Avenue interchange.

The restaurant and city/county line marker concept shows the use of the "line" in design. This is the city/county line, near Washington University in St. Louis. A lot of traffic accessing and leaving the highway, especially trucks, do not see a stop large enough to park for any length of time until they are well out of the city and the county, and into St. Charles County or Madison County, Illinois.
